Synopsis
Jackson thought he knew what love was and feels like he missed his chance at happiness. He realizes he wasted his chances by chasing after one-night stands instead of going after what he really wanted.
Kaylie knows what loss feels like and doesn't want to take a chance on love. She puts up walls to keep her heart protected from experiencing that kind of pain again.
What happens when a guy who refuses to lose out again meets a girl who resists him as much as she can? Will Jackson be able to hit the wall Kaylie has put up and knock it down?

About the Author
I absolutely adore reading - always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.
I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.
When I told my mom that my new year's resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me "About time!"

Aliens are loading humans onto their ships to populate a new galaxy; you have two hours before they get to you. What do you do in those two hours?!
Two hours isn’t very much time. I’d have to make sure I have enough books on my Kindle to last me for well…. forever!!! So I would probably spend a lot of that time one-clicking at Amazon and charging my backup battery packs just in case.

Who is your favourite author?
This is such a tough question for me because I am an avid reader. When I am not in the middle of a new writing project, I read 1-2 books a day. If I had to play favorites, then I would have to say Aurora Rose Reynolds. I love the Until Series, and she has some amazing projects in the works right now. Keep in mind that I am a little biased though… we are friends and beta read for each other.

How did you start your writing career?
Writing a book had always been on my bucket list and it came up in conversation with my mom while she was waiting on a transplant list. She wrote several historical romance novels when I was young, and she loved the idea of me chasing this dream. My mom beta reads for me, and we spent many hours talking about book ideas while she was recovering. I love being an author, not just because it’s living my dream but also because it gave my mom something positive to focus on when she needed it the most.

Which character was the hardest to write and why?
Jackson was probably the hardest for me to write. It was the first time I did a lot of writing from the male POV, so it was an adjustment.

Why did you choose to write romance?
I love romance novels. I’ve read them since I was too young to be reading them so it made sense for me to choose the same genre when I decided to write. I simply adore happily-ever-afters.

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?
I don’t write full-time yet. I was a marketing professional for more than a decade and have moved into management for the home health agency where I work.

Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?
Well, I hardly ever write at my desk. I have a whole office all to myself at home, but I write anywhere but there. In bed, on my couch, in my recliner. And I love doing writing sprints with my fellow Indie Romance Author Chicks.

What would be the weirdest one?
Other than my choice of location, I’d have to say my obsession with word count. I check my progress far too often. I guess it goes hand in hand with the writing sprints, though.

If you write under an alias/Nome de plume, how does it feel to have emails etc. addressed to your other name?
I do write with a pen name, but since I just dropped off my last name it isn’t that much of a transition for me. Although in real life, I’ve always gone by my middle name so everyone usually calls me Paige instead of Rochelle.

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?
I just released Hit the Wall on March 19. Next up is Hold Your Horses. It is a novella which will be part of the Southern Seduction box set due out on April 14. I am also working on a Drake & Lexi novella and Aubrey’s story in Outside the Box. I hope to have both released this summer.

Where are your books available?
Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Excerpt
I knew the second I saw them together that I had waited too long. He wanted her, and I couldn’t blame him. She was hot. Lots of guys wanted her. But it was the way she looked at him that got to me. Her eyes lit up any time he was near, and she’d get this look on her face. Like he was the only thing she could see. I tried to tell myself that it was only a fling and that it was a good sign. She was ready for a relationship again. I just had to wait until Drake messed up before I could finally have Lex. But when it came down to it, I just couldn’t do it. She loved him, and he made her happy. More than anything, I wanted her to be happy.
When Drake calmed down and listened to me, the look of horror on his face told me that he loved her, too. My worst fear was confirmed when he refused to budge from her dorm, unwilling to go anywhere until he could find Lex. By the time Aubrey finally answered her phone, I felt sorry for the guy. He was a total wreck from knowing how much he had hurt Lex. If she forgave him, he wasn’t ever going to let her go. So I had to do it.

Now here I was, on my way to find Sasha to make sure she didn’t interfere in their relationship again. Talk about an awkward conversation. I had to talk to a chick I’d banged the fuck out of last year. About not messing with the girl I was in love with and her boyfriend. The situation was so fucked up that I couldn’t have made this shit up if I tried.

Top 5 Things you Didn’t Know about Hit The Wall
1. Jackson's name originally was Josh... until I saw the names Drake & Josh together and said no way! (anyone get the TV show reference???)
2. Hit the Wall was supposed to be the third book in the Blythe College series, but Jackson just wouldn't wait for his turn!
3. Yes, Aubrey & Jackson have two older brothers... who I almost missed mentioning completely until my mom caught it in her beta read.
4. Hit the Wall was uploaded to Kindle from the Atlanta airport while I was on my way home from fangirling at Wicked Book Weekend.
5. Shhh, don't tell anyone but Sasha was originally going to be a reformed heroine in this book. She wasn't cooperating & then Kaylie stormed next door and that was that for Jackson.
