Tell us a bit about yourself.
I could tell you the boring facts, such as I’m thirty-two, I live in a small town in Texas, and I’m a single mother of two, but that doesn’t really give you a sense of who I am. So, I’ll give you the more intimate, random details.

My favorite color is silver. To me, it symbolizes balance, which is something I'm always seeking.

My favorite animals are squirrels and otters because they are playful and always seem happy.

When I'm sad, watching a video of a Great Dane jumping on a trampoline to peek over the fence can cheer me up.

The toilet paper roll must come over, never under.

I've been known to burn more than one dinner because I get caught up singing and dancing while I cook.

I have an irrational fear of looking into mirrors in the dark... can't be sure who is looking back at you.

I'm a writer, so I obviously have an overactive imagination.

What inspired you to write your first book?
Fiction has always been my escape from the real world; it’s the only thing I’ve ever really been passionate about. Growing up, I knew I wanted to do something with books. I dreamed of being an editor or a publisher. I never once thought I’d be a writer. Although I always had character ideas and plots running through my head, the idea of being in the spotlight and really putting myself out there frightened the hell out of me. When I was twenty-five, I was going through one of the hardest times in my life. One day, I was talking with a friend of mine and she asked what my hobbies were and what I planned to do with my life. I was completely lost and had no answer. She knew me well enough to say, “You like books. Have you ever thought about writing?” Umm… no. I explained to her my reasoning, and her response was to order me to write her something. I’m excellent at following directions, so I did. I wrote a short story about a lost woman who was ready to change her life. When my friend applauded me and said she thought I had talent, it gave me the courage to believe in myself. And so I began Divine Merit.

How did you come up with the concept for Divine Merit?
I was mowing my front lawn one morning while singing along to my iPod. The song “It’s All Been Done” by the Barenaked Ladies came on and the idea of two immortals meeting up throughout time, loving each other, but never being able to stay together came into my mind. From there, I began to ask myself questions like “Why are they immortal?” and “Why can’t they be together?” And suddenly, Caeden started talking to me. He was so frustrated with Amira. She is a child playing games, nothing more. And there was the first line of Divine Merit. An angry Caeden continued to pace back and forth through my mind until I finally stopped the mower and went inside to write the scene. Then, like magic, the rest of the characters appeared and the story took a life of its own, completely straying from the original concept.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in writing Divine Merit?
I was surprised to discover the author doesn’t actually have control of the story. The characters have a way of taking over and holding the author hostage. For example, at one point in Divine Merit, Levi announced he had a plan to trap the villain, and I was shocked. “What? What plan, Levi? We don’t have a plan!” For two days, I remained clueless to what he was planning, and then it turned out that his plan actually sucked, but thankfully, one of the ladies came up with something better to save the day.

Have you ever done anything strange or weird in the name of research?
Haha! Yes, I have, but luckily, I have a good support team to talk me out of the more wild things. Such as, I once asked to be punched in the face. The person I asked thought I was absolutely nuts and refused. My argument was, “But if I’m going to write about it, shouldn’t I know how it feels?”

Can you share a little of your current work with us?
An unedited scene from Divine Grace

“What is your relationship with him?” Trevin asked briskly, getting straight to the point.
He was unused to this feeling of jealousy, which aggravated his usual calm demeanor to near fury. They would settle this issue now, and if Inaya had any sort of feelings toward another man, well, he’d see to it that they ceased immediately.
“Excuse me?” she questioned with a look of confusion.
“You will answer the question,” he stated, not being one to repeat himself.
Inaya’s spine stiffened and her look of confusion turned to one of pure stubbornness.  “I don’t believe that is any of your business.”
“You know very well that it is,” he forced out through clenched teeth.
“If I remember correctly, you refused that right.”

Do you have any writing rituals?
I take long group showers with my characters. LOL. It seems like the majority of the scenes come while I’m either driving or in the shower. So when I’m uncertain of what comes next, I hop in the shower.

What book are you reading now?
Make Me Whole by Kaithlin Shepherd. I’ve become a huge fan of Ms. Shepherd in the last several months.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Thank you for giving my stories a chance. I hope you can love my imaginary friends as much as I do. And thank you for your support and encouragement; it allows me to believe in myself and it means far more than you will ever know. I would love to hear from you, so please leave a review or feel free to contact me directly. There is nothing I enjoy more than talking about my imaginary friends.

Random Questions:
What's in your fridge right now?
Not a whole hell of a lot honestly, but the most interesting thing is a half-eaten, blue, 9 inch gummy bear.
What song do you sing at the top of your voice every time you hear it?
When “I Will Do Anything For Love” by Meatloaf comes on, I don’t care who is around, I put on the performance of a lifetime.  ☺
Where did you last go on holiday?
In August of 2015, I participated in my first author signing in Florida at the Indie Author Bookfest. And let me tell you, some of my fellow authors are wild!
If feral aliens attacked your house and they were zapping your home with their Über super bombs, what five items would you save?
Well, first I would attempt to interview them, for research purposes of course. If that didn’t work out, I’d snatch up my Kindle, laptop, .40 Smith & Wesson M&P (See, they should have answered my questions, now gotta fight off those suckers.), my wallet, and my kids could come along too, I guess.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

When Robbi  Bennett, special education teacher extraordinaire, decided to move from New York to California, it was for reasons beyond trading snowstorms for sunshine and surfing. Following the tragic death of her parents, and several doomed relationships, she craved a fresh start; an opportunity to reinvent herself.

Tyler D’Angelo, bad-boy biker and self-proclaimed man-whore, equates love with weakness. For decades, he has kept his heart on lockdown, but meeting Robbi turns his solitary life inside out as they are inexplicably drawn to each other. Can love be strong enough to overcome a lifetime of fear?

(This story features two hearing impaired characters. The story also involves information related to deafness, deaf education, and American Sign Language.)

An interview with Teri McGill by Hot Tree Promotions

1. Tell us a bit about yourself.  I was born and raised in Fresh Meadows (Queens) New York. After a few years of teaching 4th and 7th grade Math, I got my Master’s Degree in Deaf Education and spent the next 12 years teaching secondary Math (and tap dance in the after-school theatre arts program) at the Lexington School for the Deaf. I moved to Los Angeles in 1994 and spent the following 18 years teaching Math and ASL (American Sign Language) at Granada Hills High School and Fairfax High School.

2. What inspired you to write your first book?  After retiring in 2012, I had a lot of free time. I contacted Becky Johnson at Hot Tree Editing and she took me on as a beta reader. After reading countless fabulously hot romances, I thought that perhaps I would try it as well. I had written a screenplay in ’96 (20 copies are gathering dust in my garage), but now … in 2015 … the self-publishing phenomenon has enabled the writer to take control of their own destiny and ‘just do it’!

3. How did you come up with the title 'Signs of a Quiet Heart'?  Well … no spoilers here, but the HEART is the key focus of the story … literally and figuratively. I originally had ‘The Silent Heart’ in mind, but when I Googled that, too many things came up. The themes of deafness and sign language dictated the ‘quiet’ aspect. The series title was originally ‘The Shared Heart’ or ‘Shared Hearts’, but again … Google made it clear there were too many other sites with that name. The word “signs’ is a reference to sign language. “Quiet’ also refers to Tyler’s heart … he has it stored in a quiet, lonely fortress.

4. Describe your main character in five words.  Tyler: dark, damaged, disconnected, lonely, fearful … until the right woman comes along!

5. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your book?  I decided at an early age (after my first year of teaching) that motherhood was not for me. I LOVE teenagers, but the younger ones? Not so much. Well … after falling in love with the five-year-old girl in my story (and other children in Book #2), now when I see young children I can’t take my eyes off them … I get very emotional!

6. Have you ever done anything strange or weird in the name of research?  Besides spend entire days Googling? Sadly, no, but it could be fun! Perhaps I’ll have a different answer in the future.

7. How long does it take you to write a book? That’s difficult to say. I finished Books #1 & 2 in a year … originally this was to be one book, but after 150K words, I realized that was NOT happening! This story took on a life of its own … once I got inside the characters’ heads, it just flowed! After finishing Book 2, I felt so despondent … decided to take a minor character from Book 1 and make him the star of Book 3, which will be a standalone with some characters making brief reappearances.

8. Can you share a little of your current work with us?  Here's an excerpt from LOST AND FOUND (My Heart Is Yours – Book #3)

(Scene: Tag is behind the bar at North Star; Tyler and Robbi are enjoying a night out.)

Tag downed another shot of Patron, and then motioned for Tyler to follow him. The men walked out of the bar into the parking lot and stood against the brick wall. Tag’s usually tanned face had suddenly turned pallid, reflecting the moonlight. He removed a joint from his shirt pocket and lit it in one smooth motion, inhaling deeply to calm himself.
“Did you tell Robbi anything? About my past … all that shit I told you months ago?” Tag hissed, blowing out smoke through trembling lips. “I’m not dickin’ around here, man.”
“No. Not one fuckin’ word to anyone. Why?”
“I don’t know. That girl … she reminded me of my Randi. It spooked me a bit. That’s never happened before. Yeah, I’ve been seein’ her face everywhere for twelve long years, but I’ve always known it’s all up here.” Touching his temple with his forefinger, Tag took another long drag on the joint, before passing it to Tyler, who indulged in a few casual puffs before handing it back.
“I’m well aware it’s wishful thinking, like visions, hallucinations or whatever,” Tag continued, taking a final few deep drags on the joint, before pinching it out between his thumb and forefinger and tucking it back into his pocket. “That chick just really looks like her. I’m a little freaked out. Those eyes …”
Tyler’s hand reached out and landed on Tag’s shoulder. “Don’t over-analyze this shit, buddy. Just go with it. She seems like a nice girl, kinda normal, you know? Robbi’s chattin’ her up right now and probably gettin’ the lowdown. I’ll fill you in later, okay buddy? You just continue to be your adorable, charming self.” Wide green eyes glared at Tyler in undisguised astonishment.
“What the fuck are you babbling about? Are you trying to set me up? With her?” Pinching the bridge of his nose, Tag simply shook his head at Tyler.
“And what the hell is wrong with her, Tag? She seems really … sweet.”
A cheerless, sarcastic snigger escaped from Tag’s grim lips. “T-man, do you fuckin’ know me at all? I don’t do sweet, nice or normal. You know I prefer slutty, crazy, and disposable. Hey, I figure if I’m goin’ straight to Hell, I may as well take the scenic route in the HOV lane. Remember the time we had the epic five-way, when the two of us picked up those three sorority girls? Dude, that was fuckin’ —”
“Enough!” Grunting disgustedly, Tyler sneered, “Yeah, I know all about your love life; or should I say loveless life, because that used to be me. Slutty, crazy, disposable — lather, rinse, repeat. You are the fuckin’ hat trick of heartache, buddy. Been there. Fuck. That.”
Tyler affectionately smacked Tag’s cheek a few times; the final motion had some power behind it and caused a slight yelp from Tag.
“What the fuck, Ty?” Tag was a bit taken aback by Tyler’s semi-aggressive action. Although Ty was a few inches taller, Tag had never felt intimidated by him before.
Tyler’s powerful arms caged Tag in against the cold stone wall of the building, then he lowered his head so the two men were nose to nose. Pinning Tag with his deep cobalt blue eyes, Tyler growled menacingly, the volume of his voice escalating with every utterance. “That fucking devil who lives up there?” His large forefinger was poking Tag’s forehead repeatedly. “Inside that thick head of yours — you know, the monster who terrorizes your dreams, eating you alive from the inside out until you rot? You need to face him right the fuck now. Make him your friend, or … He. Will. End. You.” Exasperated, Tag threaded his fingers through his hair, causing the platinum spikes to stand on end.
Tyler took a deep inhale at this point; no doubt he was out of breath, but it could have also been a dramatic pause. He blew his breath out slowly, shaking his head in frustration. “Tag, wake the fuck up! You are thirty-two and going on dead. It’s time for a change buddy. I wasted more years than you have been alive on this Earth. But look at me now; I am living proof it’s never too late.”

9. What is your work schedule like when you're writing?  Nothing set in stone. I write when the spirit moves me; when the words flow.

10. Do you have any writing rituals?  Not really. I do keep small notebooks everywhere (gym bag, car) so when an idea pops up, I write it down immediately.

11. What book are you reading now?  My own!! Proofreading is a bitch. The last book was Veronica Roth’s Four: A Divergent Collection (a prequel to the Divergent Trilogy). The next will be Paper Towns by John Green (The Fault in Our Stars).

12. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?  My readers? How thrilling to imagine people actually reading my book and hopefully enjoying it. Thank you and PLEASE … get in touch with me!

AUTHOR LOWDOWN with Norma Jeanne Karlsson

If you had to choose a tattoo for someone else to get, what would it be and who would be the victim?

I would make my husband cover his Iron Maiden tattoo. He got it as a teenager and it’s awful!! I would have him cover it up with something sexy...masculine...hot J

Do you have a favourite author? Who is it/are they?

I have a lot of authors I love. I’ve always been a fan of Nora Roberts, Dan Brown, Anne Rice and John Grisham. I read voraciously and change what I like more often than not...and I’m never one to pick favorites.

How did you start your writing career?

I’ve always been a hobby writer. When I moved to the UK a few years ago, I had the opportunity to choose a new path in life. After long talks with my family, we decided I would give writing full time a try. I sat down at my computer a few days later and had 10,000 words when it was time to cook my family dinner. That was it. My first novel was born and well on its way. I haven’t stopped since.

Which character was the hardest to write and why?

I’ve been lucky up to this point. I haven’t found a character I don’t love in some way. My work is very driven by the development of my characters and their interactions. Even when I’m writing villains, I find it pretty easy. The biggest struggle I find with my characters is how much hardship I’m going to put them through. I’m fairly brutal at points and I have to consider that when writing. I get attached to my characters. I have a vested interest in how their individual stories grow and build throughout my series. I enjoy stretching them along with myself. It’s work but not hard work. It’s truly a labor of love.

How would you classify the genre you write? Why did you choose that genre?

This has been a struggle for me. I write books that don’t necessarily fall within any specific genre. I touch on many sub-genres within the Romance world. I could be considered Romantic Suspense/Thriller, Contemporary Romance or Dark Romance. I’m comfortable with all of those genres. I write novels with violence, suspense, love, humor, sex, betrayal, mystery, danger, family and strong female lead characters. When I try to put myself in just one genre, I feel like I’m not providing a full picture. Instead, I hover within these three and hope someday there will be a sub-genre that can encapsulate my work.

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?

I would be doing research within a university, either as a professor or a research fellow. I have a Master’s degree in Social Research Methods. I always thought the PhD would come along, but I’ve found writing satisfies me in a way that research didn’t. I may go back to it at some point if being an author is no longer a viable option. But until then, I’ll write away and use my research skills for the good of my stories.

Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?

I’m not much for rituals, but I do have a few habits. My writing process is unique. I start writing a story without mapping anything out or plotting a story. I may have an idea for a character or two, but typically, I’m in front of a blank screen and then I’m not. I start writing and I don’t stop until the end. If I try to take a break or a day off, it really throws my flow. So, I do my best to write continuously until I’m finished. This means I write manuscripts very quickly. Shrouded in Blackness, my third novel, was complete and off to my editor in fourteen days.

What would be the weirdest one?

I write late at night. In the wee hours of the morning is when I do my best work. I also write during the day, but I feel like I’m more productive during the night. This means I get maybe four hours of sleep a night. I have three children, two with special needs. Their school schedule requires I’m up early and available throughout the day. It was a difficult adjustment at first, but I’ve found if I get more than six hours now I’m not much good to anyone. So, I barely sleep and write like mad.

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?

August 6th I released Into the Blackness, my fourth novel.
Late September I released Blackness Within
And at the end of the year Escaping the Blackness will be released.

Where are your books available?

AUTHOR LOWDOWN with Luke Young

You’ve got 2 hours left on earth (impending alien invasion/apocalypse etc) What do you do?

Definitely a threesome and it probably would be pretty easy to arrange due to the dire circumstances the planet was in :)

You’re being abducted by hunky aliens and they’ve never watched a DVD. What five movies do you take to watch with them?

Can my aliens be hot instead of hunky please?

My movies would be - Office Space, The second Austin Powers movie (The Spy Who Shagged Me), Michael Clayton, It's Complicated and Bridesmaids.

Do you have a favourite author? Who is it/are they?

I still like John Grisham's books. I've read most of them and The Firm was hard to put down.

How did you start your writing career?

One day, about eight years ago, I just decided to write a screenplay. I set out to figure out the proper format then cranked one out in about a month. It wasn't all that good, but it was fun. I found it was hard to get agents or producers to read them so I just entered a few of those screenplay contest. That didn't exactly lead to anything. From there I wrote a couple more screenplays. When I saw that eBooks were becoming really popular back in 2010, I decided to adapt one of my scripts into a novel. My first novel didn't sell very well, but I kept at it. When I wrote Friends With Partial Benefits, I thought I might be on to something. And that novel and the series have found a group of dedicated fans.

How would you classify the genre you write? Why did you choose that genre?

I write edgy contemporary romantic comedies. I love putting people in awkward situations and writing about sex. So my books are mostly comedy, but with just enough romance in them that I think they lean closer to Contemporary Romance rather than just humor. Especially my Friends series.

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?

If my male modelling career didn't pan out, I'd probably try my hand at stand-up comedy.

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?

The sixth novel in my Friends With Benefits series is releasing on 12/18/2014 finally!

Where are your books available?

Amazon, B&N, Kobo, Smashword and the iBookstore

 Gather my family near!

If you had to choose a tattoo for someone else to get, what would it be and who would be the victim?
Someone else? My husband...our anniversary date. He's never forgotten, but I just want to be sure!

You’re being abducted by hunky aliens and they’ve never watched a DVD. What five movies do you take to watch with them?
Dodge Ball,
A Knight's Tale,
Pitch Perfect,
Gone With the Wind, and
Galaxy Quest

Do you have a favourite author? Who is it/are they?
I have many!!! CJ Roberts, Pepper Winters, are two that come to mind.

How did you start your writing career?
I just decided to write a story in my head. I didn't plan to publish. I just wanted to see if I could write it all out and if it would make sense.

Which character was the hardest to write and why?
Catherine Marie London. I couldn't find anything redeemable about her.

If you write under an alias/Nome de plume, how do you deal with being addressed by that name?
It's second nature anymore. I'm as comfortable with Aleatha as I am my given name.

Is there a particular reason you chose the alias you have?
Yes! Aleatha is my mother's mother's name and Romig is my father's mother's maiden name. I put my two grandmothers together.

How would you classify the genre you write? Why did you choose that genre?
I write in two genres: Dark Contemporary Romance/Thriller and Erotic thriller

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?
I was a dental hygienist for 30 years.

Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?
no...not really

Severely!!! I'm blessed enough to have someone who comes once a week to help. But day to day stuff suffers...as a matter of fact, I need to go do laundry now!

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?
October 21: Insidious. My first erotic thriller - stand alone.
January 2015: A Peek Beyond the Consequences. A Consequences series novella. This novella was released in a limited time anthology, Breathless. It has since been doubled in length to be on its own. More Tales From the Dark Side in 2015 and hopefully a surprise!!!

Where are your books available?
Amazon, iBooks, B & N, and Kobo

AUTHOR LOWDOWN with Dawne Walters

You’ve got 2 hours left on earth (impending alien invasion/apocalypse etc) What do you do?
Well it’s too late to panic...so, sit with my four dogs, Perseus, Poseidon, Chi Chi and Sanchez and watch it all go down. That’s a good question.

If you had to choose a tattoo for someone else to get, what would it be and who would be the victim?
My victim would be Myriam Judith Perkins...tattoos of all of CLP’s clients signatures on her BOOBS!!

You’re being abducted by hunky aliens and they’ve never watched a DVD. What five movies do you take to watch with them?
Pride & Prejudice (with Kiera Knightly) because everyone loves a love story,
Stepbrothers (because it’s all about the Effing Catalina Wine Mixer),
White Christmas (I want to see those hunky aliens dance!),
St Elmo’s Fire (because Rob Lowe in the 80’s was EPIC!), and
ELF (It’s my ‘feel good’ movie when I’m feeling crappy).

Do you have a favourite author? Who is it/are they?
I have soooo many, MJ Carnal, Liz King, Layla Stevens, Skye Turner, Michelle Valentine, Bridgette Michelle Hare, Sofie Hartley, Felicia Lynn, Sophie Monroe...there are so many. I call them my Lays Potato Chips...you can’t pick just one! (that sounded kinda creepy didn’t it....).

How did you start your writing career?
I started writing  when I was eight and I lived in Europe...Spain I think at that age. Started writing short stories in my journals. With all of the castles we’d visited...it was inspiring.

Which character was the hardest to write and why?
Conrad Renner in Anchor Line. He is  this barrel chested freedom fighter that isn’t ready to settle down, yet this little slip of a woman just does him in. He has this carefree attitude most of the time, yet when it comes to Addie, he can’t give her up.

If you have a nome de plume, is there a particular reason you chose the alias you have?
I kinda like having my name on something I wrote. If you are going to take time to write it, take credit for it!! “Yeah, that’s me...what!” But, I completely understand for others who don’t write with their real names due to family or jobs.

How would you classify the genre you write? Why did you choose that genre?
My genre is contemporary erotica with a military twist? Why did I pick this genre...I started writing while I was deployed to Iraq and I think that I was trying to escape in a historical romance that I was trying write and got caught up in the moss that grew on the castle, the water and how it flowed and the clothing for the period and my dialogue suffered and my charters were second to describing the castles and the grounds. So, Yeah, that didn’t work. Much prefer current goings on and romance. Who doesn’t want a happily ever after with a little drama that makes you want to throw your book?

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?
I think I would have gone to school to do the whole Nurse Practitioner thing that I started when I got out of the Army. But, I missed the connection that I had to the Army and now work for the DOD and write at home....and sometimes at work. (shhh)

Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?
I am an emotional writer. I will set up an index of what I want each chapter to be and what I want to cover. But I can’t write from beginning to end. I end up piecing it all together. But I always listen to music and have Goldfish crackers and Mint M&Ms on hand.

What would be the weirdest one?
I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS listen to Hurricane, Alibi, and Night of the Hunter by Thirty Seconds to Mars when writing a sex scene. Can’t write it with anyone else.

How badly does the housekeeping suffer when you’re in the writer’s cave?
Not at all. I take the time to clean and do laundry before writing. Unless I’m in a time crunch...like right now. But, it’s not a problem.

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?
From today - Pick Me two weeks or less. Static Line - (A short story from Anchor Line) Right before Christmas. Lyrics - Late Feb early March, Enforcer - Hopefully mid May.

Where are your books available?
Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. Still monkeying with other platforms like Kobo and the like. Paperbacks are always available from me and come with goodies.

AUTHOR LOWDOWN with Kirsty Moseley

You’ve got 2 hours left on earth (impending alien invasion/apocalypse etc) What do you do?
Oh I’d be one of those people that waste it by panicking!

You’re being abducted by hunky aliens and they’ve never watched a DVD. What five movies do you take to watch with them?
The Goonies.
Dumb and Dumber.
Indiana Jones.
The Lost Boys.
The whole set of DVD boxsets of The Walking Dead.

Do you have a favourite actor?
I love a bit of Bruce Willis…. little old school, but he’s still got it!

How would you classify the genre you write? Why did you choose that genre?
I currently write New Adult Romance. I guess I am an old romantic at heart, I’m a sucker for a good romance and a swoon-worthy male that leaves a girl hoping she’d find someone like that in real life.

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?
Something menial and boring, no doubt. I have no real talents, I can’t cook or draw or do anything creative, I have minimum computer skills and my organisational skills leave something to be desired (just ask my PA, she will attest to this!). I would probably end up working in an office and doing a job with barely any responsibility.

Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?
I have to write with music on, very very low in the background. I don’t like total silence. I have to be wearing comfy clothes, and have a cup of coffee ready for when I need a break.

How badly does the housekeeping suffer when you’re in the writer’s cave?
I am one of the worst housekeepers in the world, if I’m honest. Cave or no cave, my house is always a mess! My husband is a godsend while I’m in the cave. If it weren’t for him we would probably all starve and be wearing dirty clothes every day.

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?
I have a new book out on 18th November, it’s called Poles Apart. After that will be a young adult fantasy book that I’m currently working on. I’m excited for it to be out, but it won’t be until around May/June time.

AUTHOR LOWDOWN with Alessandra Torre

You’ve got 2 hours left on earth (impending alien invasion/apocalypse etc) What do you do?
Gather my friends and family and veg out while going through our favorite memories.

Do you have a favourite author? Who is it/are they?
Gillian Flynn

How did you start your writing career?
On a fluke. I was always a reader, you couldn’t keep me away from books. My mother was self-publishing a book, and passed on Stephen King’s book On Writing. Between his words and finding out about my mother’s writing journey, I felt inspired to pull out my laptop and start writing!

If you had to choose a tattoo for someone else to get, what would it be and who would be the victim?
Victim: my husband
Tattoo: my name in cursive on his ribs (I’m selfish)

Which character was the hardest to write and why?
Brant Sharp was my most difficult character. If you’ve read Black Lies, you know why. J

How would you classify the genre you write? Why did you choose that genre?
Erotic romance is my primary genre. I think it is a very flexible genre, one that often includes elements of suspense – which is my favorite spice to add to a novel. J

You’re being abducted by hunky aliens and they’ve never watched a DVD. What five movies do you take to watch with them?
Super Troopers,
Paul,
The Princess Bride,
Die Hard, and
Gladiator

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?
Before writing I was in banking, then an assistant. Before I started writing, I was considering apply to law school.

Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?
I am most productive when listening to music, in my bed with my dogs curled up at my feet. Normally I’ll keep a stash of energy drinks in easy reach with some almonds or chips. Removing all excuses to get up helps. J

How badly does the housekeeping suffer when you’re in the writer’s cave?
My housekeeping always suffers. I am a messy girl. You can tell if I have writer’s block, because it is the only time I start scrubbing floors.

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?
My next book, TIGHT, releases in late December or early January. After that, Do Not Disturb (the sequel to Girl in 6E) releases in April.

Where are your books available?
Amazon, Nook, Smashwords, Kobo and iBooks has all of my books
Bookstores and Audible has Blindfolded Innocence, Masked Innocence, Girl in 6E.
