SPOTLIGHT - Lindy and the Wulfen by R.E. Butler

The Wolf’s Mate Book 7: Lindy & The Wulfen by R.E. Butler

Available Now
AMAZON          AMAZON UK          Apple iBookstore          Barnes & Noble          Kobo

Synopsis
After a devastating blow to her already fragile self esteem, werewolf Lindy Vincent has decided to stop being the pack whore and change her life for the better. With the help of her two best friends, her alpha female, and a feisty she-wolf named Eula, Lindy starts down the road of self-improvement, happy for the first time in years.

Crimson Ta'rek is a Wulfen, a cross between a wolf and a fairy, and the only one of his kind. After casting a spell for his truemate, he finds himself in the Mortal Realm rescuing the she-wolf meant to be his. When someone from his past threatens Lindy, Crimson will show the realm why no one messes with a Wulfen's mate.

This book contains one Wulfen with eyes only for his mate, a she-wolf trying to start her life over, and the spell that brings them together. Expect plenty of shifting, growling, and neck biting, fairy magic, and gratuitous use of the word "mine."

About the Author
I always wanted to be a homebody and live in one place for my entire life, but fate had other plans. In the past twelve years of my married life, we’ve moved seven times, including from one coast to the other. Southern New Jersey is home now and I love it.  I have two young children, a husband who begrudgingly pays for my ebook addiction, and two dogs that think they’re people. After college, I spent eight years as an executive assistant before “retiring” at twenty-seven to become a stay-at-home mom. I have a soft spot for self-published authors, Ghirardelli chocolate, muscle cars, and men with tattoos.  Most people who know me don’t know I have a tattoo of a tiger on my hip or that I have an unhealthy obsession with The Simpsons.
I love sunsets, several cups of coffee in the morning, and I absolutely cannot live without books. When I’m not busy with my family, you’ll find me sitting at my desk working on any number of projects, including reading, reviewing, and writing.
I adore talking to fans and other authors, so please write to me!  You can email me atrebutlerauthor@gmail, find me on twitter @rebutlerauthor, or join me on Facebook at R.E.ButlerAuthorPage.
You’ll find my best-selling Wolf’s Mate, Wiccan-Were-Bear, Necklace Bride, Ashland Pride, and Hyena Heat series books on sale at Smashwords, B&N, Apple iBookstore, Diesel, Kobo, and Amazon.

Synopsis
Alpha wolf Acksel wakes up one morning in the bed of the one human who was kind to him in school. Now, ten years later, Brynn Mara is snuggled up at his side, smelling like passion and sweet dreams. Even though Acksel has declared that his pack members can mate with humans from now on, he knows that any woman he takes as his mate will have a target on her back. Especially if she’s a fragile human. Deciding it’s better to cut things off than string her along when there’s no hope for a relationship, he leaves without a word and ignores her.

But it doesn’t matter if Acksel acknowledges her or not, because their night of passion has left a permanent reminder of what happens when one drunk wolf forgets protection. Angry, banished wolves from his pack discover Brynn’s secret and decide to use her against Acksel. His worst fears have come true, and the only woman who ever touched his heart is now suffering because of his mistake.

This book contains one ticked off, emotionally damaged alpha, the human woman who can tame him, and a sweet little surprise that no one expected.

Excerpt
A sharp knocking on the door startled Brynn awake, and she rolled off the couch in surprise.  Her knees slammed into the carpet and she gasped in shock.  She hadn’t meant to fall asleep on the couch.  As she rubbed at her eyes, the knocking on the door continued.  Fixing her blurry gaze on the clock on the television, she saw it was well past midnight.
Standing slowly, she walked to the door.  “Who is it?” she called loudly.  Her mind raced.  Her dad and Mia both had keys to her place and wouldn’t be banging on the door in the middle of the night.
“Open the door.  I just want to see you.”
No.  Way.
There was no possible way on earth that Acksel Moore was banging on her door at this hour.  Or any hour, for that matter.
She flipped on the switch to turn on the porch light and drew in a deep breath.  The lock clicked as she turned it and pulled the door open.  Standing in the harsh light was the most gorgeous man she’d ever known.  The star of every dirty fantasy she’d ever had.
And he looked like someone had shot his puppy.
His gray eyes were red and he reeked of whiskey.  His strong jaw was covered with stubble as if he hadn’t shaved in days.  He leaned heavily on the door frame.
“I just want someone to care.”  His words were raw, his tone rough and full of despair.
Her heart cracked painfully as he slumped forward, too drunk to stay on his feet.  She managed to ease his fall to the floor so he didn’t get hurt.  Leaning over, she stroked his forehead.
“Oh Acksel, I always cared.”

AUTHOR LOWDOWN with R.E. Butler

Aliens are loading humans onto their ships to populate a new galaxy; you have two hours before they get to you. What do you do in those two hours?!
Shave my legs!   I'm kidding.  Kind of.  In the last two hours on Earth, I'd call all my family members that weren't going with me and say goodbye, make sure someone was going to take care of my dogs, and wait eagerly for what the future holds.

Who is your favourite author?
That's a tough one!  There are a lot of authors that I really enjoy, but there are only a few authors that I will automatically buy everything that they publish, and my favourite of those is Laurann Dohner.

How did you start your writing career?
After I started reading paranormal romances, I was entranced with the worlds and characters, and I thought that I could do that, too.  So I sat down to write a story about a werewolf pack, and it (eventually) became the first Wolf's Mate book.

Which character was the hardest to write and why?
The hardest for me to write are the villains.  There's a part of me that wants to find the goodness in everyone, even the bad guys.  If I'm writing a villain that needs to be utterly irredeemable, it's difficult for me to keep them true to character and not try to let them be a good guy even a little.  One of the most difficult villains to write were the were-lynxes from the fifth Wolf's Mate book, Bo & Reika.  I needed the three lynxes that were after Reika to be so very despicable that no one would be rooting for them.

Why did you choose to write romance?
I love to write about relationships and all that goes into them.  I love writing about hot, sexy heroes, amazing heroines, drama, lovin', and happily ever afters.

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?
I am a stay-at-home-mom as well, so if I wasn't writing, I'd probably be doing a lot more cleaning and cooking than I do now.

Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?
I only have two rituals for writing - coffee and candy.  Folgers coffee in a Tervis cup so it stays hot the whole time I drink it, and something sweet to snack on.  Before Skittles got rid of lime green, that used to be my go-to candy, but now I eat fruit Mentos and Starburst jelly beans.

What would be the weirdest one?
My weirdest ritual involves the sorting of the candy that I eat.  Even though there are only three flavors in the fruit mentos, I still organize and eat them them by color - orange first, then yellow and my favorite pink for last.  I also sort the jellybeans!

If you write under an alias/Nome de plume, how does it feel to have emails etc. addressed to your other name?
I do write under an alias and at first it was strange to have people refer to me by initials, but after more than two years, I've definitely gotten used to it!

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?
The second book in my Wilde Creek series will be out in April followed by the 7th book in The Wolf's Mate series.

Where are your books available?
Amazon, Apple iBookstore, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords and other online retailers

NEW RELEASE!! Marking Melody by R.E. Butler

Release Date - 20th January
Ashland Pride #3
Marking Melody (Ashland Pride)
Buy it here!

Synopsis
All were-mountain lion Melody Marx ever wanted was to find her mate and start a family. After being rescued from her own people by two mountain lions, she knows that she's found not just one mate, but two. She goes with them to their old home in Pennsylvania, but finds an even chillier reception than she found in Ashland.

Tristan and Micah Harrison would do anything to keep Melody safe, even if it means walking away from the Ashland Pride and their own family forever. When problems arise in their hometown of King, Pennsylvania, it turns out that the males aren't the only ones who don't approve of their mating.

Be prepared for two males with plans to hold onto their mate forever, a female searching for a place to call home, and an enemy who is always looking for new ways to wreak havoc in the males' lives. This book contains sweet males, a feisty female, and m/f/m interaction.

Quick notes
Being the lucky bitch I am, I beta-read this months ago. It's a great continuation of the Ashland Pride series and goes into more detail about why the females of the pride are complete and utter bitches. It even explores more than one mate set storyline. We see a previous character accepted back into the fold and find her mates - I feel for them all as it's going to be a loooong wait for their book!
It's full of action and nicely moves along to the end. Go explore R.E. Butler!
