You’re being abducted by hunky aliens and they’ve never
watched a DVD. What five movies do you take to watch with them?
OOOO, great
question!! 5 hunky aliens... Is porn out of the question? Heehee!! I’d say... Lord
of The Rings – Return of the King, Pretty Woman, Rocky IV, Dirty Dancing, The
Avengers.
Do you have a favourite author? Who is it/are they?
Hahahaha
– That list is too long and too wide to ever narrow down. Yes, I have certain
authors that are instant one-clicks but I also am a One-click-aholic...so I’m
going to keep my answers to myself. <3
How did you start your writing career?
About three years ago
I started a blog called, Lisa’s Reads. I reviewed books that touched my heart.
If I read a book and loved it, I crafted an original and special review just
for that book. On my blog, there were No ratings, No negative reviews, No nonsense
– just me writing about books I loved and why I loved them. I slowly built an
audience who became excited about my posts. They not only wanted to know what I
was reading, but they also enjoyed they way I wrote my reviews. When my
personal life stepped into my fictional world, things began to change and a
story built in my mind....as they say, the rest. Is. History.
Which character was the hardest to write and why?
So
far, the character I had the most difficult time writing was Cate Lockton. She
is in my third book and she was a new character being introduced into a group
of already established “friends.” I not only needed to build the story
surrounding Cate and Kyle, but I needed to learn who she was as a person. I had
to figure out what made her tick, what made her laugh, and how to fit her and
her personality into a group that was already such a well oiled machine. It was
challenging. However, she turned out to be amazing. I’m really proud of her and
the feedback I received had been super positive.
If you write under an alias/Nome de plume, how do you deal with being addressed by that name?
My name actually is Lisa N Paul, so I don’t have any problems
with name confusion. J
How would you classify the genre you write? Why did you
choose that genre?
I write romance with a heavy erotic flair. I can’t just call
it romance because my sex scenes are extremely graphic, wildly descriptive, and
beautifully naughty. That said, my books aren’t erotica because there is SO
MUCH STORY wrapped around the sex. I chose to write this genre because a) I
love, love, love to read it and b) it’s the way the story leaves my soul. I may
write the stories, but they create themselves I just guide them. They need to
be sexual, sensual, and erotic. The day that my characters choose not to be
that way will be the day my story is told differently.
If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?
I’m a social worker by trade. I stopped working when I had my children in order
to care for them. I probably would have gone back to that or I would have
continued writing my blog.
Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?
I honestly
don’t have any rituals for when I write...the only strange thing that I can
share is...ALL of my great ideas – every single one of them have come to me
while either in the shower or at the gym. Which kind of sucks because in
neither situation can I just stop what I’m doing and write. I end up repeating
the ideas over and over in my head until I can get to paper or my cell phone to
jot the thought down...I must look incredibly bizarre to the people working out
next to me. And I’ve been known to jump out of the shower not fully washed in
order to write something down and then hop back in to finish rinsing. J
What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?
Currently
I have three titles available – All of them in my Charistown series. (Please
know that even though I have written the books as a series, they can be read
and enjoyed as standalones.) Thursday Nights, Storm Front, and Breaking To
Breathe are the first three in the series with more to come.
I am currently working on a standalone story called,
“Blocked”. The cover will be revealed on October 12, 2014....and it is a steamy
one .... so be on the lookout. ;)
Where are your books available?
My books are currently only
available on Amazon KU – however, starting November 1, 2014, all of my titles
will once again be available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Kobo.
