Five minutes until the interview begins.

Fresh on the heels of her college graduation, Cameron Heart has landed an interview at a prestigious architecture firm.

Four minutes until the interview.
She knows she’s only there because the owner, Grayson Cole, is her older sister’s friend.
Three minutes.
For the last seven years, Grayson has been the most intimidating man Cammie has ever had the pleasure, or displeasure, of being around.
Two Minutes.
But the job opportunity is too good to pass up. So, Cammie will have to ignore the fact that Grayson is handsome enough to have his own national holiday.
One.
After all, she shouldn’t feel that way about her new boss. And, he will be her new boss.

“I’m not scared of you,” I said with a confident smile.
“Perhaps we should fix that, Ms. Heart. Close the door.”

I paused just outside of the front doors and took a deep breath, trying to get my bearings. I was twenty minutes early for my interview. My outfit was still wrinkle-free. My pad-folio was filled with extra copies of my resume and reference letters, and I’d rehearsed every possible question that Grayson Cole would ask:
Greatest weakness? My inability to settle for anything less than what I deserve. I’m stubborn and persistent.
The honest answer? My inability to overcome my schoolgirl crush on you even though you’re a self-righteous ass.
I would NOT be giving him the honest answer.

REVIEW
I loved the first book, The Duet, but this one tops that. Grey has managed to successfully mix humour (and lots of it) with great characters and a heap of tension. Grayson has wanted Cammie Heart since she was in high school and he’d graduated college…of course, timing being wrong and age gap being inappropriate, he did nothing about it. (Or did he?) Fast forward five years and she’s graduated and applying for a job with his architectural firm. Of course she gets the job, and that’s where it gets nice and interesting.
Cammie decides, after a rather odd interview, that she’s going to chase after what she wants, finally. I sat up all night until I’d finished it, unable to put it down to sleep, which (unless I’m on a work deadline) I rarely do now. Unless the book has me in its grip and I simply can’t put it down. Cammie does things she shouldn’t, Grayson’s done things he probably shouldn’t have. They both do things together he’s always sworn he wouldn’t do. (and I don’t think stairwells will ever be the same!)
If you like R.S. Grey’s writing and her style of humour, you will love The Design too. I can’t say I’ve ever met a book of hers I don’t like (and I think there’s only one so far I haven’t read). I laughed, I cried (happy tears, happy tears!!), I smiled like a loon.
Another five star read to add to your TBR (but bump it to the top really, really soon!)

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.

NEW RELEASE & REVIEW! The Duet by R.S. Grey

Title: The Duet
Author: R.S. Grey
Release Date: Nov 8, 2014
Find on

When 27-year-old pop sensation Brooklyn Heart steps in front of a microphone, her love songs enchant audiences worldwide. But when it comes to her own love life, the only spell she’s under is a dry one.
So when her label slots her for a Grammy performance with the sexy and soulful Jason Monroe, she can’t help but entertain certain fantasies... those in which her G-string gets more play than her guitars'.
Only one problem. Jason is a lyrical lone wolf that isn’t happy about sharing the stage—nor his ranch — with the sassy singer. But while it may seem like a song entitled ‘Jason Monroe Is an Arrogant Ho’ basically writes itself, their label and their millions of fans are expecting recording gold…
They’re expecting The Duet.
The Duet will be priced at $2.99 for two days post-release, then the price will bump to $3.99!

The M Lounge was the hippest and most discreet club in LA. If there was any hope of me locking down a one-night stand, M Lounge was the place to go.
“I can’t drink much tonight because I have that meeting with my record label in the morning,” I warned as we passed through the back entrance to the club and headed up a set of stairs that were used exclusively for the VIP level. Fun fact: one time I was going up those stairs when P. Diddy was coming down, and he totally touched my ass. Allegedly.
“Just to clarify: if you’re begging me for tequila shots at midnight, threatening to kill my first born if I don’t give them to you, I should still tell you no?” Cammie asked, just to ensure the boundaries were set. Better safe than sorry.
“That was one time and it was in Cabo,” I protested. “What else are you supposed to do in Cabo other than challenge a mariachi band to a tequila shot contest until the lead singer passes out beside a donkey?”
Cammie held up her hands and started listing off items. “I dunno— enjoy the beach, check out the museums and the culture—”
“That was a rhetorical question,” I interrupted as we made it to the top of the stairs.
As if by magic, the black curtain in front of us swept to the side, opening up an entire room of drunken debauchery before us. In one corner, a celebrity who shall remain nameless (we’ll call her Nennifer Janiston) was sucking face with a sexy man, and across the room two of the funniest women in comedy were doing body shots off of a waiter from the club.
“Welcome to the behind the scenes of Hollywood,” I whispered to Cammie.

Review

I haven’t met a book by R.S. Grey that I didn’t like… and I still haven’t!
Great story, wonderful characters. Two completely opposite styles of music and their record label tells them to collaborate for a Grammy performance. What could possibly go awry? Nothing you say? You’d be wrong!
I love the funny lines in this. Loved them so much, I had to read out multiple sentences and even whole paragraphs to the hubs, and this is a man who rolls his eyes at me for reading out funny bits from books, giving me a distinct look of “Why me? Why did I get stuck with a book nerd?”  And, you want to know something? He laughed at every single one I read out. Amazeballs!! Oh, wait, all except one, but then I think he was too busy perving on the chick in ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ to pay attention to me. *shrug* There’s always the next line!
If something can make my not-a-book-fan partner  laugh, then it’s a hit as far as I’m concerned.  In addition to the funny parts though, are solid characters, a great storyline and a feeling of contentment when Brooklyn gets to Jason’s ranch in Montana. (I know, I know, it’s a book, but it just makes me want to jump on a plane and fly for 20 hours to get there)
The only thing that stopped me from finishing this in an all-nighter read, was the fact the battery on my tablet went flat (there’s something special about a paperback, isn’t there?!). This is definitely one I could’ve stayed up all night reading, simply for the enjoyment and the laughs. It was a “what’s she going to think or say next?” type page turner for me.

Now that I’ve finished my babbling, it’s time to scroll back up to the BUY NOW link, and click that sucker. I dare you!

What started out as a joke— seduce Coach Wilder—soon became a goal she had to score. With Olympic tryouts on the horizon, the last thing nineteen-year-old Kinsley Bryant needs to add to her plate is Liam Wilder. He's a professional soccer player, America's favorite bad-boy, and has all the qualities of a skilled panty-dropper. • A face that makes girls weep – check. • Abs that can shred Parmesan cheese (the expensive kind) – check. • Enough confidence to shift the earth’s gravitational pull – double check. Not to mention Liam is strictly off limits . Forbidden. Her coaches have made that perfectly clear. (i.e. “Score with Coach Wilder anywhere other than the field and you’ll be cut from the team faster than you can count his tattoos.”) But that just makes him all the more enticing…Besides, Kinsley's already counted the visible ones, and she is not one to leave a project unfinished. Kinsley tries to play the game her way as they navigate through forbidden territory, but Liam is determined to teach her a whole new definition for the term “team bonding.” A fun & sexy New Adult Romance (age 17+)

But just before she stepped inside, I heard the same sexy voice that I’d heard the previous night— the voice that said, I'm sexy and I know it. "Morning ladies." Every single girl froze and we turned in unison. Liam Wilder was standing a few feet away wearing workout gear and a friendly smile. Of course his friendly smile could easily be misconstrued for a take-your-panties-off smile, so it's a wonder we all managed to mutter shocked hellos. I guess he'd pulled up in the parking lot a few minutes after we did. I peered behind him and saw a black Mercedes SUV parked in the spot closest to the field house. A photographer was snapping pictures on the other side of the fence. Jeez, they wake up this early to get pictures of him? "Oh, hi Liam." Tara smiled wide. I shot Becca a gag-me face. "You guys should probably call me Coach Wilder while we're at practice," he admonished. I had to fight to keep from cracking up. The shocked look on Tara's face was absolutely priceless, but it still wasn't enough to make me forget the awkwardness of the situation. I couldn't look up at him. The last time we'd spoken, I'd literally asked him to show me his tattoos, which we both knew really meant I wanted him to show me his soccer balls. Hah. I'd have to tell Becca that one later. I tugged her and Emily forward without acknowledging Liam and headed for the conference room. Thankfully, Coach Davis was there already and Liam didn't follow us in. 20140506-212240.jpg

Review
What a fantastic book! My next book boyfriend is definitely Liam Wilder :)
This book is funny, quirky and a whole lot of fun. And you even want to slap the crap out of the jealous bitch Captain of the girls soccer team. Bitch!
I was chuckling from the first page - which is only really half a page - and consistently throughout the book. I managed to read it in a day, despite the callings of real life.
Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended. Enjoy a gigglesnort with Scoring Wilder and wish you had a Liam of your very own!
Makes me want to be 19 again and have a do-over, for sure!!
