HOT, AUSSIE STANDALONE ROMANCE SERIES

Title: A Perfect Chance
Author: Becca Lee
Genre: Aussie Contemporary Romance with a hint of  MC

"Ms. Lee’s sweet and sensual style is a welcome respite from the angsty conflict currently common within the genre. Her writing is also infused with generous hits of humor and insightful observations."

Chasing a ghost is easy. It's finding yourself that's the real challenge.

Drowning in darkness, Mace struggles to move on from a past filled with sorrow. Anger is a much easier emotion to handle, one he readily embraces. Burying himself in his work and spending his nights with his brotherhood of bikers, Mace is determined to spend his life playing by his own rules.

Plagued by her own guilt, Lena desires nothing more than to break free from her past and to start afresh. But fear and anxiety threaten to keep her hostage, leaving her frustrated and stifled. The last thing she expects is another brooding man to be her possible way out.

While Lena is determined to fight for her future outside of the Deadwood MC, Mace is resolute to avoid any hope of happiness. Together, they have to decide what they're willing to risk for the perfect chance.

X

Sliding out of the booth, I sauntered across the pub and ducked behind the counter. Nobody gave me a second glance. They didn’t know who I was, nobody did, but they knew I wasn’t anybody good. Peering through the window on the door, Mercy had her back turned, wiping at her damp T-shirt. I could step into her from behind and show her how hard I was…but that wasn’t the way this game was going to be played.
Pressing the door open with the flat of my palm, she looked up at me with blue eyes that gave away two things. Her hair wasn’t naturally black and by the way her pupils dilated, she was amped up. I was interested in only one of these observations and by the way my cock began to stir, there was no guessing which one was the money shot.
Mercy glared up at me, trying to cover her surprise at my appearance.
“What the fuck do you want?” she spat, dabbing at her tiny T-shirt with a rag. “You’re not allowed back here. Employees only."
I stepped closer, not put off by her tone at all. I’d had worse.
“I don’t give a shit,” I said.
She eyed me, her gaze raking from head to cock and back up again.
I quirked an eyebrow, my lip curling in amusement.
“If you want something, just fucking say it,” she said with an exasperated sigh. “I don’t even know who the fuck you are."
“X.”
“X, what?” she said, putting her hands on her hips. Bitch didn’t miss a trick.
“It’s my name."
"X as in the letter x?" She rolled her eyes.
"Got a problem?" I asked, inching closer.
“Yeah.” She nodded at me. “You’re in a staff only area. You might be all buddy buddy with Weiss, but I don’t know you from shit."
“The mouth on you,” I breathed, totally turned on. I knew she had bite in her, but fucking Jesus H Christ. The more she bit, the harder I got. My gaze rested on her tits. Yeah, I was a tits man through and through, and hers...
“You think I’m going to let you fuck me?” she scoffed, her bluntness doing nothing but turning me on even more.
My gaze snapped back to hers. “Who said I was going to fuck you?"
She pressed her hips forward, her groin rubbing into mine. “Your cock."
My hand shot up and grasped the hair at the nape of her neck. With a sharp tug, her head fell to the side, leaving her neck exposed. If I was an asshole, I’d just take her now, but I wasn’t…fuck that. I was an asshole. Asshole was too safe a word to describe the kind of man I was.
“No,” I said, running my gaze down her pale neck and over her tits. “No, I’m not going to fuck you, Mercy.” She gave me a look that screamed 'offended' and it only made me grin wider. "Not here. When I fuck you, I’m not going to share your screams with anyone."
Her entire body shivered and I knew I had her. Next time, she would come to me.
Letting her go, I let her hair run between my fingers and it took her a beat too long to step back and separate our bodies.
Giving her one last appreciative look, I turned on my heel and exited the ‘employee only’ room. I could wait. My cock strained against my jeans in protest, but this was one desire I was playing out and savoring.
I strode across the bar and pushed out the door, rearranging myself.
I could wait.

Trice- “What’s got your chuckling over there, Bea-Bea?” I inwardly sigh at my nickname. “Ah … nothing. It’s just me being silly.” “Hmm …” he muses. “Sure … care to share?” My face heats up. I don’t feel so brave anymore. “No, it’s okay, really.” I cover my cheeks in embarrassment. He notices instantly and starts pecking at me. “C’mon, Bea-Bea! You can tell me … pweeease?” I lower my hands and give him a look. Should I? Shouldn’t I? His lips pucker in a duck face and I can’t help but laugh. You’ve asked for it. “Well, seeing as it’s such a shock for you to see me in my dance clothes, I contemplated wearing little outfits around the house just to watch you stumble and perhaps crash into something.” I can’t help but grin; it feels nice having the upper hand in teasing for a change. Winding up the window, I notice that for once he hasn’t replied. I’m in my element, so I keep on going. “You know, just walk around and vacuum or answer the door, daily activities that I don’t care for, but just so you can act like a fool … Geez, Alex, never thought of you being shy. How times have changed.” For a moment, I think I’ve embarrassed him, then as I tilt my head over my shoulder to see him, he’s not looking embarrassed. In fact, he’s looking … a whole lot tense. Narrowing my eyes at him, I challenge him with, “Um … care to explain why you’re clutching the steering wheel? Are you mad?” He tilts his chin to the left and I follow its track, seeing the dance studio is in front of us. Oh, that was a quick trip, albeit a little weird just now. “Oh. Well, thanks for the lift. I should be finished by four or five. I’ll tram back, no need to chauffeur.” He pulls over as I’m collecting my tote from my feet, “Thanks again.” I smile, clearly trying to brighten up the tension I’ve caused. I grab the door handle, but am stopped when his large arm comes across my chest, essentially blocking me in. Our gazes lock. “Bea,” he says softly, “I like that red underwear you own.” “I ... ah ... am wearing it... today,” Releasing his arm from the door handle, he gently holds my face while staring intently into my eyes. “I especially like it when you wear your nightgown. That blue one you have on the clothesline? Try putting that one on and seeing what I’ll do.” My breath hitches as I stare back into his eyes, my breathing suddenly coming in fast but shallow breaths. He isn’t joking with me. His eyes have darkened, and his chest is rising rapidly also. “See you tonight,” he whispers, and his hand cups my cheek. Please, please, please kiss me. Before my impatience takes over and I can move forward to kiss him, he’s leaning back and fastening his seat beat. What just happened?

Review
Oh my god, if you haven't read this series yet, you need to. Seriously. This is a must have set of books. Aussie cowboys, set in the Northern Territory...it makes me want to go on a road trip!! This book contains HOT sex (keep a towel handy) and heartbreaking moments (keep another towel handy). I swear, I went from crying to spontaneous combustion. It's a fabulous read and must be read in order with the rest of the series. You need to know the background to the other characters who appear and live within the world Kasey has created. I guess if you really wanted, you could read it as a standalone, but for full enjoyment, get the rest!

Excerpt

With pain, comes blame. We blame the ones we love, we blame the one we lost, but most of all, we blame ourselves. It buries itself deep. So deep that on some days it feels like it’s in the marrow of your bones.

It destroys everything. The love you thought you had? Blame will chew it up and spit it out faster than you can blink.

Blame is like cancer; it eats away at all the good. It consumes you and if you are not careful, it will kill you.

AUTHOR LOWDOWN - SYDNEY SPECIAL EDITION!! Rachel Brookes

You’re being abducted by hunky aliens and they’ve never watched a DVD. What five movies do you take to watch with them?
Oh, this is a tough one!
Troy, Transformers, Forest Gump, The Wedding Singer and World War Z. I have just realised how random my favourite movies are!

Do you have a favourite author? Who is it/are they?
I have so many! Abbi Glines, Kendall Ryan, Christina Lauren, Kristen Ashley. I can’t choose just one.

How did you start your writing career?
It was late 2013 when Savannah Rae from The Breathe Series decided to pop herself into my thoughts and she refused to leave. I remember the day so fondly when I opened a fresh word document and wrote the prologue to what would be the beginning of Just Breathe. I spent hours on my laptop, typing, deleting and then typing again. It was such a new experience. I jumped onto twitter where I was able to start connecting with some amazing fellow authors and bloggers and then people started to want to know about my book. It was so surreal and, as they say, the rest is history.

Which character was the hardest to write and why?
Definitely Eden Rivers from Be My December. Her back story was so intense and a very tough subject matter to cover. It is a subject that needs patience, integrity, and respect. I was so afraid that I wouldn’t do it correctly or that I wouldn’t do it justice but I have received many emails and messages from people who have experienced something similar to Eden or know someone and they have eased my concerns. Although she was the hardest, she definitely has a very special place in my heart.

If you write under an alias/Nome de plume, how do you deal with being addressed by that name?
I was born Rachel so I don’t have to worry about forgetting my penname.I have quite a few author friends that write under a penname and I am so supportive of their decision.

How would you classify the genre you write? Why did you choose that genre?
I would class my genre as contemporary romance with adult themes. I chose that genre because it is what I love reading, but it also covers the age range that I like to focus on and covers the issues, emotions, experiences and fantasies of expression. Contemporary Romance is open to interpretation and allows me to write subjects that wouldn’t be accepted in some other sub-categories.

If you weren’t an author, what would you have ended up doing?
I worked as an executive assistant prior to becoming an author so I’d either be doing that or I’d be training and/or working in Beauty.

Do you have any rituals/habits when you write?
I always have to have music playing and for some reason I always put my hair up into a top knot (high bun), if I am writing at home I make sure one of my favourite candles is burning. I also almost always write the last paragraph of the book at the start. It’s something I’ve done from the very beginning and I continue to do it.

What would be the weirdest one?
Definitely the top knot, I can’t seem to write if my hair is down. I am officially a weirdo.
~there's little more distracting than hair in your face~ Mandy ~

What is on your current and upcoming release schedule?
I have four books currently available.

The Breathe Series: Just Breathe, Breathless and Breathe Again and I have recently released a standalone called Be My December. My upcoming release schedule includes Be My Temptation, Crave and Perfect Distraction which will be released the beginning months of 2015.

Where are your books available?
All books eBooks and paperbacks are available via amazon as well as some online stores in different territories.
